The forested plot of land on which the hotel sits was granted to the Croney family in 1690 by the king of England. The estate thrived as a working sugar plantation until 1936.

It eventually became The Old Manor Hotel, where it thrived on a great reputation, with its unique boutique accommodation (before that was fashionable!) and the sense of peace and indulgence it offered it's clientele. It had a freewheeling, nothing too much trouble vibe - sometimes the guests even cooked for other guests in the first floor dining room & bar, with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean!

People travelled to Nevis from all the Caribbean and beyond for weekends packed with fun, music, laughter, great food and dancing under the stars.  Pizza and bbq fare were served in the stone courtyard under the night sky while a live string band played in the bandstand by the fabulous circular fresh water swimming pool.

The extremely generous sized 13 guest suites were finished off with wide plank wooden floors, antique style furniture, four poster beds and an array of curios and objet, with ceiling fans whirring above to keep the evenings cool.

The Cooperage was the large first floor Restaurant and Bar. The newer addition of the terrace allowed for sea views - The extremely generous commercial sized kitchen has plenty of prep areas,  walk in larders and food store areas.

Additional accommodation includes hotel reception, office space, commercial sized laundry and a host of storage rooms all built in the traditional Caribbean "Blouse and Skirt" style of stone for the first floor and Wooden second floor.

The hotel has a stunning set of sugar plantation ruins and chimney in the centre and has various other undeveloped ruins in the grounds - offering a plethora of developable scenarios.
